So, Alli and I spent most of the day getting ready (We had to look good for Andy). Then, we met Matt at Arctic Circle and had dinner. Then we drove over to the school. We went into the building and went downstairs to this little room where a few other people were sitting and waiting. They handed us these cool little badges:
We waited down in the room for about half an hour and in walks Andy Grammer. I mean, I knew he was coming but it still was like, "OH MY GOSH! There's Andy Grammer!" It was so cool! So we all lined up to get pictures with him. It was our turn and he was SOOOO nice! He just kept saying thanks for coming, and it's nice to meet you! AND he said that Alli and I were sweet:) We blushed and giggled a lot.
Me and Andy:)
All of us and Andy:)
So he signed some posters for us and then he left to get ready for the concert. We went and put our posters in my car and walked back inside and waited for the doors to open so we could sit down. They finally let us in and it was still like a half an hour before the show started.
Andy had two opening acts: some girl named Rachel Patton and Ryan Star. We had heard of Ryan before but not Rachel. So she went first and Dylan was in love. She had this really awesome drummer that got really into it. It was soooo funny!
Then she finished and it took a while for Ryan to get onstage, and when he finally did Alli and I were sooooooo excited! If you dont know who he is, you might recognize this song:
Oh, he was so funny. He sang a few of his own songs, but he also sang Rolling in the Deep and Don't Stop Believing. It was AWESOME! Then, he said he was going to the hall to sign autographs so Alli and I ran up there and we got a picture with him! We had him sign our passes and I told him he was awesome and then he looks at me and says, "You're awesome!" It made me happy! The picture is at a weird angle because he was leaning over a table and we were leaning back on it.
We ran back to our seats, but Andy didn't come on for about another 15 minutes. When he came onstage everyone went crazy! He was soo awesome! He made me so happy. I don't think we stopped smiling all night. We screamed so loud our throats are sore! He sang some of our favorites of his and he also sang Sunday Morning by Maroon 5 and my personal favorite Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol! It was so fun! Here's some more pictures and I'll post some of the videos to YouTube later:
So.... yeah... it was a pretty good concert! All 3 performers had SERIOUS talent. They sound the same live as they do on their cd! They're not like Rihanna, or Taylor Swift, or any of those crap singers who have to have their voice edited like none other to sound good. These guys had real talent and it was so awesome!
Ha ha, but anytime anyone wants to take me to a concert, feel free... I get pretty lucky at them:)
You didn't provide enough information about the dinner portion of the evening. Did you have a Ranch Burger? Did you dip your fries in the always tasty Arctic Circle fry sauce? Did you have Root Beer to drink? I can't believe you left so many important details out of your post.
ReplyDeleteDad, that is hardly the most important thing of the post. I believe the post is title ANDY GRAMMER, not Dinner at Arctic Circle. But, to answer your question, I had a country chicken sandwich and a root beer. and I did not dip the fries in in the fry sauce... I don't like fry sauce.
DeleteBut dinner is ALWAYS the most important part of any story. Did you get an Artic Circle milkshake? I like treats!
